This week at Spectrum International Mortgages, we’d like to take you on a journey to one of our favourite regions of Spain: the Balearic Islands, also known as the Baleares in Spanish.
The Balearic Islands are an archipelago located in the western Mediterranean Sea, off the eastern coast of Spain. It is made up of four main islands: Mallorca (also known as Majorca), Menorca (also known as Minorca), Ibiza, and Formentera, as well as several smaller islands and islets. The islands are an autonomous community of Spain, with Palma de Mallorca serving as the capital city.
These islands are of course a popular tourist destination, but they also offer many attractions for those looking to make a permanent move.
First and foremost, the Balearic Islands are known for their stunning natural beauty. With crystal-clear waters, picturesque beaches, and rugged landscapes, the islands are an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Whether you enjoy hiking, swimming, cycling, or simply lounging on the beach, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
